Two Rwandan hotels elected among the best in the world | New times

Two Rwandan hotels, One & Only Gorilla’s Nest in Ruhengeri and One & Only Nyungwe Forest Reserve in Nyamasheke, were ranked among the 50 best resorts in the world in 2021, by the American magazine Condé Nast Traveler.
According to the magazine, the hotels were ranked 25th and 26th respectively on the list.
Condé Nast Traveler is a luxury and lifestyle magazine published by Condé Nast. The 34th Annual Research List for 2021 released on Tuesday was created based on reader reviews.
Besides Rwanda’s mountain gorillas as a major tourist attraction, “Rwanda nature treks are not the average jeep safari. They often involve hours of hiking, on steep volcanic slopes and on sometimes muddy trails. That is, the people who come here are the adventurous type. ”
Plus, it’s nestled in a working tea plantation on the edge of the pristine Nyungwe Forest National Park, this luxury lodge is one of Rwanda’s most upscale hotels. Plus, it gives you easy access to the park’s population of chimpanzees, monkeys and other wildlife, ”the magazine said.
The investigation further noted that the One & Only Ruhengeri Gorilla’s Nest is the latest in a trio of lodges in the foothills of the country’s Virunga Mountains where primatologist Dian Fossey worked the much smaller Bisate of Wilderness Safaris and Kwitonda de Singita are nearby.
Other named destinations include France, Maldives, Hawaii, Oman, Mexico, Thailand, Kenya, British Columbia, South Africa, Peru and others.
The investigation also comes after Rwanda was named among the main African countries having vaccinated more than 10% of its population by the World Health Organization. The country’s restrictions on coronavirus-related tourism were relaxed at the September 21 cabinet meeting.
