New upscale restaurant opens Monday in western Ithaca
The Milkstand, a new upscale restaurant launched by the owners of Maru Ramen, opens Monday, September 6 in the former home of Byrne Dairy on the corner of Meadow Street and Buffalo Street in western Ithaca. The new restaurant promises breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with traditional fare as well as more sophisticated dishes like pancakes, flatbreads, steak and fries, and a range of vegan options.

Breakfast at the Milkstand, available until 3 p.m., features “Eggs Your Way,” three orderable eggs with house fries and toast, for $ 12, Eggs Benedict for $ 16, and Steak and Eggs for $ 23, for give an idea of the price range. The menu also offers a Southwestern quiche and cutlet with chorizo and eggs that can be made with vegan substitutes. There’s waffles and brie toast, sweet and savory pancakes, and like any high-end dinner should have it, avocado toast.
Starting at 11 a.m., the menu adds a variety of flatbreads, appetizer salads starting at $ 15, burgers and other sandwiches, as well as entrees such as seared salmon, steak fries, tacos. with fish, milk meatballs with handmade pasta and kale pasta with vegan pesto.
A member of the Milkstand staff tells us that they will start with the basics, and after a few weeks he can’t wait to come up with some creative specialties on top of the menu.
Initially, the restaurant will be open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and closed on Tuesday.
