IHG announces 11th property in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
IHG Hotels & Resorts announced the signing of a management agreement with Al Aqeeq Real Estate Development Company, a 100% subsidiary of Taiba Investments for the Crowne Plaza Taiba Riyadh. Located on Makkah Al Mukarammah Branch Road, close to the King Faisal Specialty Center and Riyadh’s diplomatic district, the new hotel is slated to open in June 2025.
Speaking on the announcement, Haitham Mattar, Managing Director, India, Middle East & Africa, IHG said, “With the signing of Crowne Plaza Taiba Riyadh, we continue to expand our presence in the Kingdom. Our premium brand, Crowne Plaza, is ideal for modern business travelers who want a smooth transition from work to rejuvenation and therefore supports the business and leisure tourism offering featured in Vision 2030. We are also honored to have a partner in Taiba Investment, who is known for his experience and expertise in the sector. The new construction hotel will greatly benefit from the growing demand of the center and improve the hotel offer in the city.
The hotel’s 192 rooms and 110 serviced apartments will provide a holistic experience for both transient and extended stay guests. Along with the next-generation design, the hotel will also have a solid F&B offering, including a lobby lounge, all-day restaurant and cafe. The Crowne Plaza Taiba Riyadh will also include 200 square meters of meeting space, as well as fitness and leisure facilities.

IHG currently operates 37 hotels in Saudi Arabia through five brands, including InterContinental, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn, Staybridge Suites and Voco. 23 other hotels are under development and should open within three to five years.
