Disney World hours extended next month
If you’re planning a Walt Disney World vacation in October, you’ll be pleased to find that you can spend more valuable time at the park each day. Indeed, Disney World has increased its opening hours for October. It’s a terrifically fabulous treat for the spookiest time of year, but not unexpected.
Disney generally sets preliminary times and adjusts based on park crowd levels and hotel occupancy. In recent years, October has been a busy month. The days when the month was considered the “slowest month of the year” are long gone. Word spread about this not-so-well-kept secret, and people started flocking to the park in October. Mickey’s not-so-scary Halloween party has added an incentive to visit in October, keeping crowd levels steady.
This news may not be as good for night owls as it is for early risers, but with the Halloween party forcing early closings of a Magic Kingdom, extra time in the morning makes more sense at least for this park. The other parks also benefit from earlier opening hours. You’ll find the lowest crowds of all day in the first hour. Most parks have had an extra half hour added in the morning. EPCOT and Hollywood Studios will both open at 8:30 a.m. instead of 9 p.m. Animal Kingdom will open at 8:00 a.m. instead of 8:30 a.m. magic kingdom will open at 8:00 a.m. on October 2, 4, 6, 7, 10, 11, 13, 14, 16, 18, 20, 21, 23, 25, 27 and 28 and close at 6:00 p.m. for Mickey’s not so scary nights party party. Magic Kingdom will open at 9:00 a.m. as previously scheduled but will now remain open until 11:00 p.m.
This is a pleasant surprise for those traveling next month. More time on magic is always a good thing. Will you be visiting in October? Let us know your favorite month to go to Walt Disney World in the comments!
